Perimenopause and Menopause

The menopause transition is a significant time in a women’s life that can start as early as 10 years before her final menstrual period.

We offer a comprehensive approach to managing symptoms and supporting overall health during this phase. One key advantage is that we recognize that menopause symptoms often begin well before the final menstrual period, during the perimenopause phase. This allows for earlier intervention and support, potentially altering the trajectory of a woman’s health as she ages.

We offer a variety of tools to assess and address menopause symptoms, including:

  • appropriate laboratory testing to understand your body now, and also to look at future health risks
  • nutritional support
  • lifestyle interventions
  • herbs and supplements
  • medications such as menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) when appropriate

We take a personalized approach, recognizing that each woman’s experience of menopause is unique and that solutions should be tailored to individual needs.

Menopause care is not just about symptom management. We provide comprehensive health assessments, considering how hormonal changes during menopause can impact various aspects of a woman’s health. For example: cardiovascular health, metabolic health, cognitive health, sexual health, mental health and bone health. We focus on educating patients about the changes occurring in their bodies and empowering them with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health.

By working with a naturopathic doctor, women can receive support in navigating this new phase of life, addressing not only immediate symptoms but also focusing on long-term health and wellness. Our goal is to use this holistic approach to help women feel heard, understood, equipped and empowered with both immediate and long-term solutions for their health concerns as they transition through menopause and beyond.
